Yesterday I met with the Director and checked out some stuff. We watched through the first 20 minutes of the film which is pretty close to being completed for sound, including mix but without the music in there. We also checked out some specific spots in the film where there is more scope for sound design. I have some notes from this and now I have a few things to tweak and can get some more mixing done. We also selected and placed the Narration in the film. This was recorded remotely overseas and sent to me as an audio file. It is good to get this into position as it is starting to make the film seem more complete.
The plan for the next few days is to:
- hopefully record a couple of lines of ADR for actors whose accent or performance didn’t work that well; and,
- keep mixing the dialogue and effects.
Hopefully before the end of the weekend I will be supplied the final music files to add to the session too.
