SB Feature Film Post Blog Post 2

When I went to set up my Pro Tools session yesterday I found out that the OMFs were at 16 bit when my original files were at 24 bit, and that the OMF didn’t have the handle length as long as I requested, so I had to get them re-exported by the Editor. That held me up a little so I am slightly behind where I’d hoped to be by the end of yesterday.

I got the new OMFs yesterday afternoon though, and the session is set up. I am in the process of just checking those few spots where there might be issues that might cause ADR spots. So far so good though.

Notice that I said OMFs and not OMF in the singular? The Editor is using Final Cut Pro 7 and had to export the audio in 11 separate OMFs to keep under the 2GB embedded file limit.

The plan for today is to:

  • finish off the jobs I hoped to complete yesterday; and,
  • get set up for Foley in the main Control Room and Studio Floor and briefing the Foley/SFX team this evening.
