Over the last few days I have pretty much completed the dialogue and effects pre-mix, with just a few sounds still to be slotted in. Last night I went to see the Composer to check where we are up to with music. At out Spotting Session I was advised that the music would hopefully be completed and supplied to me by 17 July. It is now 27 July and it seems like it is still a little way off. I suspect that the final underscore elements will arrive just in time to be slotted in at the final mix session.
The plan for the next few days is to:
- slot in the completed songs that I have available to me, and check that the mix or elements supplied will work in with what I have there. I suspect I might need to ask the Composer for some stem elements for some of these.
- have a crack at some interface sounds for phones. Unfortunately this goes with some VFX which I haven’t been supplied finals for yet.
- hopefully record a couple of lines of ADR for actors whose accent or performance didn’t work that well. I had hoped to get this done in the last few days but I am awaiting Director and Actor availabilities to make this happen.
- record the last remaining Foley bits. There are a few that got missed, but not many.
- record a couple of specific car things. I put this off last week until I was sure of what I have or don’t have.
Once I get those elements in in the next few days I will need to then arrange a screening/meeting with the Director to go over it all.
